We are often asked if homeopathy can help with XYZ (Substitute XYZ for your complaint) It is a valid question and the answer is yes, but it is not as straightforward as a simple YES.
To explain more we need to explore the homeopathic approach to disease. It is to look at the collection of symptoms that the patient is presenting with. We call this the “totality of symptoms”. Whilst it can be handy to know the name of a disease or have a diagnosis this is not always possible and does not change the way we look at restoring health.
From clinical evidence we know there are certain remedies which have been shown to be effective for certain conditions, but it is a broader approach than just focusing on those specific remedies for the illness or disease.
With homeopathic case taking the approach to each case is individualistic and holistic. We look at your symptoms and at getting to the root or underlying cause if possible. We take a full case history and look for the homeopathic remedy which considers your main reason for seeking treatment as well as any other symptoms you may be experiencing to build a full and individual picture (the totality of symptoms).
We would be looking at remedies which have an affinity with XYZ (from clinical evidence and experience) but it would also depend on what else if going on for you – any other symptoms you may have currently, your past health history and your family health history that will inform the remedy choice.
